An amusing burger joint decorated everywhere with tin lunchboxes! Similar to others, you can build your own burger, but I always pick from the Burger Experiments.
This time I went all out with the Mac Daddy 'MeriCAN: two quarter pound American Kobe beef patties, Billion Island sauce, lettuce, tomato, American cheese, pickles, and onions on an organic bun. Served with fries or tots ($17.95).
I was expecting just a double-patty burger, but was surprised with a stacked double-burger instead! It was scrumptious and had everything desirable in a burger: juicy meat, melted cheese, freshly toasted buns with sauce, and plenty of toppings. The burger was so tall that I had to be creative on how to eat it, but I finished the whole thing! -

Take your lunch money laboratory would be more suitable. I know that burgers can be difficult to cook and I'm picky. I even had to send a burger back once at Gordon Ramsey's Burger in Las Vegas. But the difference there was the burger was medium well instead of medium. At Lunchbox Laboratory I ordered my burger medium rare (to give them some margin for error) and the $22 burger came out somewhere beyond well. I asked to have the burger remade, reiterating medium rare request. The server was great and went back to get the order right.
The good news is that the burger was better, but still came out medium well. Still too done for a $22 burger.
To his credit, the server wanted to make things right. I appreciate good service, even if there is a problem in the kitchen.
Get some training for the cooks and do something to make the plain fries and tots better than ordinary and I'll try it again. -

I heard about lunchbox Laboratory several years ago and had always wanted to try it but just never had. I decided to finally give it a try. I didn't know what to expect but I was hopeful it would live up to the hype. Unfortunately my experience was mediocre at best.
The space is fun and lively and we were greeted as soon as we walked in. We opted for he open seating in the bar and sat down at a table, as soon as I touched the table i could tell it was sticky with years of residue, the menu stuck to the table and the condiment bottles were also grimy. I wish we sat at the bar.
Still hopeful we ordered our food. I want to point out that our server was great. She was busy, but still made sure everything was ordered and timed perfectly. She gave us just enough time to enjoy our appetizer and fill our drinks before our entree came out. We started with fried pickles. I'm a huge fan if fried pickles, especially when they are made with pickle chips instead of spears. These were honestly the worst fried pickles I've ever had. I think they used bread and butter chips instead of dill and they were not crisp at all. The batter was so thick and chewy it was terrible. I didn't know you could mess up fried pickles. We both got the 101 burger and mine wasn't that good. My husband enjoyed his okay so I gave him the rest of mine. He did mention my burger was really charred and dry compared to his so maybe I got a bad one. The bun was tasty so a juicer burger would have been nice.
Maybe I had an off experience, but I wouldn't give it another try. There are too many great burger places around to take the chance on a bad meal. I wish this experience could have been different. -

Wow, what a disappointment. Food is fine - good burgers and shakes and tots. But the service? Took 15 min for my sons shake to arrive, 35 minutes for our food to arrive (slow time, 1pm on a Saturday), both my wife's and my orders were wrong, no one checked on our food, and then it took 20 minutes to get our check. I literally had to stand up and walk to my server to push him to get us our check so we could leave. This is a poorly managed or staffed location. Really too bad as it's a good concept.
I saw other seated guests struggling to get their needs met, too. -

It's always hit and miss for me at Lunchbox Laboratory. I mean, I like the scene, dog-friendly patio, friendly servers, and the cocktails, that come in beakers, reflecting that of the restaurant's theme. But I gotta say, I'm not not too keen on the burgers here, which is the main reason why anyone visits Lunchbox Laboratory.
The Bellevue Lunchbox Lab is super close to my apartment, so will come here with friends when we don't wanna walk far. As mentioned, I do not like the burgers, so hardly ever get them. But I will say their happy hour features a lot of good deals, including drinks and bites. There are fun cocktails, heavy appetizers and mini burger meals for less than 10 bucks during happy hour. It's definitely when I like to visit Lunchbox Lab.
Some hits are the poutine tots, brussel sprouts, mac and cheese and the shakes! They use Full Tilt ice cream for their shakes, so they always come out thick and creamy. Splurge and get a shake! Main entrees here are just meh to me, including non-burger meals like the fish & chips, which were mediocre. Oh, and they make their own sauces here, so choose wisely as they do charge for a side of sauce. Lunchbox Lab is a fine place to check out, but can't say I'd come here for when I'm craving a burger.
